Welcome to Hawthorne Valley!

President’s Letter

Dear neighbors,

Happy fall! We are approaching that time of year when leaves start to fall—remember that our yard waste is picked up year round, 10 bags or bundles weekly! Refer to our disposal services page for more info.

Speaking of trees, there are several along Tomahawk Creek Parkway with large dead spots. That darn Emerald Ash Borer has claimed some lovely victims—if you haven’t been treating your ash trees for this pest, you may want to check in with a certified arborist for help! Please make plans for removing those dead branches for safety and beauty of our neighborhood.

I’ve now been on the board since Summer 2021, began as interim president in fall of 2021, and was elected officially as president in spring 2022. That means my three year term will end in spring 2025, as will treasurer Cory Carr’s (she joined the board in 2021, so she has been treasurer for almost four years!).

We did not host an annual meeting this year at the designated time in March (it slipped my mind, another sign that my term as president should be ending). At the next annual meeting in March 2025 Cory and I will both be stepping down.

So! Now is your chance! If you’ve sent an email to me or the board or called or stopped a board member to chat about the neighborhood—it’s your turn! Join the board and be the person who makes it all happen!

Happy to answer any questions you have—see you in March!

Sincerely,
Kate Blythe, HVHOA Board President
